Malai Whipped Tallow
The product was disappointingly grainy, unlike the smooth, buttery texture shown in the pictures and described in the posts. As someone with severe eczema and delicate skin, I was hoping for a gentle, soothing application. Unfortunately, the rough texture caused discomfort and irritation upon use, making it unsuitable for my needs.
Hi Tanya! I'm sorry you're disappointed in your purchase! However, the graininess is likely due to natural fat crystallization. This can sometimes happen when temperature fluctuations cause the tallow and oils to melt and solidify at different rates. This does not effect the quality of the product itself in any way.
These tiny crystals melt effortlessly with body heat. To restore the buttercream-like texture, try warming a small amount between your palms for a few seconds before applying. That will immediately melt the crystals, and allow for a smooth application. Alternatively, if you'd like to reset the consistency, you can gently melt the product (placing the jar in warm water (not on direct heat) or a sunny spot for a bit), then stir and let it cool at room temperature.
