I'm Mashal - a physician by training, a mother of two, and the woman behind MKMD. I went to medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. I studied drug development at Harvard. And then I walked away from all of it - because I realized the system I'd trained for wasn't built to actually heal people.
I spent years in medical training learning how to treat symptoms. But the most powerful healing I ever saw came from my own kitchen - the rituals I grew up watching, passed down through generations. Haldi. Ghee. Thel. Hands that knew what the body needed before the textbooks did.
I left clinical medicine because I wanted to help people heal the best way I know how. So I started making what I couldn't find: First, proactive health coaching programs. And then, clean, halal, heritage-rooted products that meet the standard of a physician and the intuition of a mother.
Maalish started when I lost my hair and an Ayurvedic sanctuary helped me grow it back. Malai started when my son's eczema cleared overnight with a tallow balm I made him in my kitchen. Every product I make started as something I needed for someone I love.
I'm equally east and west. Equally allopathic and traditional. I'm the big sister I needed growing up, and that's who I'm building this for.
Crafted for who you're becoming.
