Halal grass-finished tallow
From Canadian suet, rendered four times. Its fatty-acid profile is the closest thing in nature to your skin's own sebum — which is why it sinks in instead of sitting on top.
Malai is halal, grass-finished whipped tallow, slow infused with soothing herbs - and formulated for my own baby's eczema and my sensitive pregnancy skin.

When I couldn't find anything effective enough for my baby's eczema — or safe enough for my own pregnancy skin — I made Malai. What started as a mother's remedy is now a modern ritual for families who want skincare they can trust.
Malai means "milk cream" in urdu. It's whipped from halal, grass-finished tallow from Canadian suet, rendered four times for purity. Why tallow? Because it's nature's closest match to your skin's own oils — so it hydrates, repairs and soothes without irritation and without synthetic additives.
From eczema flare-ups to dull skin, stretch marks to scars: deep nourishment that actually lasts.

Naturally present in grass-fed tallow — not added back in a lab. Supports a stronger barrier that holds moisture and shrugs off dryness.
A non-comedogenic blend that keeps the whip light and glides over face and body. If you're acne-prone, we suggest body use first.
Original: vanilla pod + lavender. Vanilla Rose: Bulgarian rose absolute + vanilla CO2. Sunkissed: Roman chamomile + sweet orange. Cashmere: cocoa + cashmere (adult body use).
What's not in it: synthetic additives, and anything I wouldn't put on my own newborn. That's the whole ingredient philosophy.
Warm it between your fingertips or palms for a few seconds until it turns to a silky oil.
After a bath or cleanse, while skin is still slightly damp. Face, body, baby's cheeks, bellies, hands — anywhere that's dry, red or angry.
Most families notice calmer skin within days. Keep going: the barrier repairs with consistency, not quantity.
Grainy after shipping? That's real fat, not a flaw. Temperature swings in transit can make the tallow and oils set at different rates and form tiny crystals. Warm a little between your palms and it melts back to buttercream instantly — the quality is unchanged.
Malai was made for exactly that: my baby's eczema and my own pregnancy skin. It's tallow, jojoba, rosehip and whole botanicals — nothing synthetic. As with anything new, patch-test on a small area first, and choose Original, Vanilla Rose or Sunkissed for little ones (Cashmere is an adult body scent).
Rendering four times removes almost all of the tallow scent, and each scent is layered with real botanicals. A few customers with a sensitive nose notice a faint natural note beneath the fragrance, especially in the first minute — it fades as it sinks in. If you're scent-sensitive, Original and Vanilla Rose are the gentlest.
Natural fat crystallization. When a jar warms and cools in transit, the tallow and oils can set at different rates and form tiny crystals. It doesn't affect quality at all — warm a little between your palms for a few seconds and it melts back to buttercream. It's the trade-off of a product with no emulsifiers or stabilizers.
It's a concentrated whip with no water in it — a pea-sized amount covers a whole face, so a jar lasts far longer than its size suggests ("a little bit goes a long way," as one reviewer put it). The 8 oz works out to $15/oz instead of $22.50, and two jars ship free in Canada.
Malai is whipped with air, so it can settle and compress in transit. You receive the full weight on the label — 2 oz or 8 oz by weight, not by volume. If anything ever looks off, email hello@drmashal.com and we'll make it right.
I can't promise that, and I won't. Many families see calmer, less itchy skin within days — and a few haven't seen the change they hoped for. Malai is a barrier-repairing moisturizer, not a prescription treatment. If you or your child has a diagnosed condition, use it alongside your care plan, not instead of it.
Yes — the tallow is halal, grass-fed and grass-finished from Canadian suet. MKMD Health is founded and run by me, a Muslim female physician of colour, here in Ontario. Small batch, hand-whipped, and made for my own family first.
Orders ship worldwide. Shipping is complimentary in Canada over $150 CAD and to the USA over $200 CAD. Full details are in our shipping policy and refund policy.
I have really sensitive skin, and I damaged my skin barrier due to using too many actives. I stopped using all actives and only used Malai after cleansing morning and night, and my skin barrier healed in one day! I also have really bad eczema on my hands triggered by the cold weather — I put Malai on at night and wake up with smooth, redness-free, moisturized hands.
I'm a first time mom and I had so much anxiety looking for products that were clean and safe for my baby. I test most things out on myself before I try on my son and immediately fell in love with this product. My skin feels amazing without the greasy/oily feeling you can get with moisturizers.
My husband has bullous eczema on his hands and loves Malai. We also use it on my newborn who has eczema, especially on her face and scalp. My toddler also loves this after bath time. I use a tiny amount for skin prep before make up. So happy to support an entrepreneur who is a Muslim female POC.
